The Tattered Magnolia - Introductions

Hi! I'm Terra...wife, mother, flower lover and Ironstone collector.  I live in Benicia, a small bayside town in Northern California with my family.

For the majority of my life, I've loved antiques.  I remember being about 7 or 8 and going into an antique store (Quail Country, Walnut Creek CA) with my Aunt.  It was packed full with American Primitives, I was in awe and instantly hooked.  

In January of 2017 I started an Instagram account under the name The Tattered Magnolia to start documenting my antiquing adventures. I would pack up the car and head out for a day of antiquing, snapping photos to post along the way.  I would visit my favorite shops, peruse the Fleas and antique shows.  I quickly found that keeping all the treasures I bought wasn't realistic and I decided to start a small business selling antiques. 

If you follow me you know that I love Ironstone, light raw wood and all those original vintage whites. Years ago I came across a blog post by Miss Mustard Seed about ironstone and I was instantly hooked. I bought my first pitcher and haven't looked back.  Patina filled stacks of Ironstone make my heart seriously skip a beat.  From white to stained, it's all is just dreamy.  I like to say that the stains and chips just mean that the piece was loved.

I hope to start sharing more on here.  I plan to start adding posts about gardening, baking, travel and most of all antiques. Thank you for being here I hope you continue to follow along.
